About Steve
“I’m intrigued by curious fact patterns that challenge commonly held beliefs––things I assumed were true and had never questioned. Such discoveries inspire my imagination and become the springboards for developing fascinating stories steeped in history.”
Steve Weitzenkorn is the author of the historical fiction novels Shakespeare’s Conspirator, about the life of Emilia Bassano Lanier/Lanyer, and The Edict, a story of the Spanish Inquisition. He writes historical fiction that brings a new perspective to old stories.
Steve hopes his readers are enthralled by his novels, develop a deeper understanding for the eras in which they are set, and empathize with the dilemmas people faced during them.
Steve is currently at work on several new projects, including a prequel and sequel to Shakespeare’s Conspirator that complete his Emilia Bassano Lanyer trilogy. The series follows Emilia from her childhood as the ward of the Duchess of Suffolk through her later years when she becomes the first woman in England to publish a book of her own poetry, Salve Deus Rex Judaeorum, in 1611.
